Reflecting
Two recent books aligned with my thinking on health and fitness:
Training
Everything listed isn’t just stuff that I’ve tested out; it is the stuff that I put through hard constant use:
Fueling
Two products I use every day:
Vitamix, normally over $600 but available for 37% off today. I make protein shakes (with the above whey) with mine each morning. It is far more powerful than any other blender I’ve used and it will last forever. Per use, it is a good value even at a high price point.
Supplementing
2 supplements everyone needs:
Magnesium is the best supplement for migraines and sleep.
Vitamin D is good for everyone; especially if you live in a northern latitude or have dark skin.
Measuring
Smart scale. Next month’s challenge (the fourth in a series) that I’m doing with a friend is daily weigh ins with this scale plus twice a week swimming laps.
Kitchen scale. If you don’t weigh yourself, then you should weigh your food. My quick portion approximation is a fist of protein, palm of carbs, and finger of fat per meal (although I often go with less carbs and more fat).
Recovering
Closing
Besides the items mentioned above, I’ve mentioned other ideas in the archives that probably have better prices today.
