Reflecting
I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving with the people you love most. On the hardest moments of the hardest days, I’m working on staying grateful, on reminding myself that I get to – not have to – do another rep or go another mile.
Training
This morning’s white board:
5 Rounds for Time
15 cal ski
12 dumbbell front squat 50s
15 cal ski
12 dumbbell dead lift 50s
1:00 minute rest
Then worked out with a friend and my trainer this afternoon. Tomorrow morning doing a 6 AM Thanksgiving run with anyone in the area who’s interested in joining me.
Fueling
Venison rack from First Light Farms on the Traeger.
Measuring
A long way to go… Muscle building very, very slowly. Met with a trainer yesterday who was pretty discouraging, essentially saying it is impossible with my current cardio load. TBD, but not what I wanted to hear.
Closing
Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me. Thanks, Anthony for getting me to pick up something heavier. Thanks, Andrew, for pulling the trigger on Eiger. I’ve been making plans for next year – ice climbing in February and two back-to-back ultras this summer between Black Hills 100 followed by Eiger 101 just a few weeks later.
Hi Chris. I saw this today, https://blueprint.bryanjohnson.co/ - You guys obviously don't share the same diet... 😆, but I thought the comprehensive self-monitoring aspects might be of interest to you. Any ways, Happy Thanksgiving!
Murph tomorrow.
