What & when pushed you to zero? Feel like within the last year you were recommending a Pinot noir (?). Thx

I stock ‘em up for gifts. Helping a friend on a new fitness push recently so went from low to no alcohol just to improve the ratio of protein and nutrients to cals as I work with him and hold myself to the same standard. I don’t miss it at all. Better sleep. I don’t use a Woop but friends who do report that the worst sober sleep is better than even the best boozy sleep in terms of reported recovery. Socially it has had no cost. If someone says “want to grab a drink?” my answer is “”let’s take a walk.”

Makes sense. I’ve been hovering just above zero for similar reasons. However I wonder if there are offsetting positives to low levels drinking. No one is going to do the research but the Mediterranean / blue zone diet definitely has a little wine in it. Seasonal / evolutionary eating would have you make wine late summer, beer / moonshine in the fall to get through winter, and when you run out, you’re out until next year. Maybe wishful thinking, but there is probably some parasympathetic benefit to a celebratory drink with loved ones that doesn’t show up on the Woop. People also beat their chests for not drinking, but make good use of cannabis for similar a limbic brain hack. Who knows...

Some decent evidence that cold exposure after a workout likely impairs hypertrophy FYI. Maybe won’t move the needle a ton but if you’re looking to squeeze out every last ounce…

Important to know. I do it just once per week for that reason.
