Hell ya, Chris! I did this swim in 2024... such an awesome experience. I had the honor of having the daughter of my Fallen SEAL next to me during the swim as my support kayaker. Being able to see her smiling during the final stretch made it all worth it. Good luck and let me know if you're around Boston before or after the swim.
Such an inspiring event. I am so glad you were able to do that and that she was too. One of the things I most like after someone has suffered is to not just help them but to also get their help. As soon as possible, let them have a role where they don't just get support but also get gratitude. Awesome that this event gives that to gold star families.
Current score $29,614 / $200,000 or 15% of the way there for the overall event. Thanks to each of my family, friends, and readers for these gifts:
• $5,000 × 1 = $5,000
• $500 × 4 = $2,000
• $250 × 1 = $250
• $200 × 2 = $400
• $180 × 1 = $180
• $100 × 8 = $800
• $50 × 3 = $150
• $25 × 3 = $75
That is 9 away from the lead! Would be grateful for hitting that so please do only what you can afford but please do something. Is this a competition? Everything is a competition. Isn’t it just about having fun? Over to Jocko for the last words:
I just got a $200 donation for the NSF. Thanks, anonymous donor. I'm about the least nostalgic or sentimental person ever. I'm not really emotional. I don't like or trust strong emotions. But I really care quite a lot about this effort and feel strongly connected and grateful for each supporter including those who do so privately.
"Never quit!" indeed; thanks anonymous donor. I'm grateful.
