Chris, I’ve read you for years at STW and here since you began. I have the utmost admiration for your writing skills, analysis, communication, and the workouts and health regime you espoused. It was gut-wrenching to me to learn of and follow this ordeal. I’ll continue to cheer your success and moan out loud for your travails. You seem to always keep a strong demeanor, again so admirable. (no victim whine here folks) .. hang tough bro, you will prevail. BB
Chris, If you ever DO make it down here in Mallorca, please look me up! There is a really goreous hike I would be humbled to do with you (Escorca to Sa Calobra) :-)
Yes. But just first 2 doses then not beyond that. And I regret doing that much. Sorta social pressure + wanting to travel. It was a botched rush job -- both the vax and my decision to comply.
I did the same to appease my aging parents. I regret it so much. I have more then a handful of stories of people that i know personally with "weird" TIA strokes, loss of vision, mild heart attacks and multiple heart inflamation and blood clots. "safe and effective"
It is weird to have symptoms of someone twice my age, 5x my body fat, and more typical of a smoker and female. I am different/opposite of nearly all of the common traits of people with my condition.
I’m thinking of you as you recover Chris - sounds like it’s quite a process especially with the risk of blood clots. That’s great that you’re able to keep up your step count at least.
Nice to hear you’re on the other side! Are you taking eliquis for 3 months or longer? If so, how are you altering your training to accommodate this blood thinner factor?
I will be on eliquis for a while but first am on a month of Lovenox injections x2/day. I hate them. The stick is fine but the drug feels like a wasp sting then the entire area is sore. Misery. Summary of nurse today "this almost just killed you but you're mostly annoyed at the shots that prevent it from happening again." Training alterations: no ice climbing because of too high a risk of head trauma or bleeding which would be worse than usual. 100' fall would be same as usual but 10' could be much worse.
Chris, glad you found the cause of your problem and can control it going forward. As for being fucked, sometimes I'm so fucked, I can't even get a bus ticket back to Fucked.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I hope it just kills me or that I recover fully. The middle ground sucks.
Praying for you Chris. I appreciate and admire your moxie.
Glad to see you are on the recovering my friend!!!
