Measuring
4” is the maximum length of blade on is legally allowed to carry in my very blue state of Connecticut (even with a concealed carry license). Here’s one that complies with a 3.5” blade that I like to give as a kid’s first knife.
Recovering
Joint flossing (wrapping compression tightly around joints for a few minutes) has been helping my knees before back squats. I use this – wrapping from above to below the knees for as long as is tolerably comfortable which is typically 4-5 minutes.

Sign up here for a fun free challenge to kick off 2025. There’s no downside to participating. It is a bit of fitness with former CrossFit champ Jason Khalipa and a bit of discipline with Navy Seal Jocko Willink. It is the perfect way to fall into the habits that can best carry you through the new year.
The image of the muscular Santa brought to mind one of my favorite recently made Christmas movies, "Violent Night," starring David Harbour as Santa.
