Hello Chris,

Are you using a "smartwatch" to track metrics and other details? If so which ones have you tried and whats your preference?

Thank you.

Yes https://shorturl.at/S2tPm Apple Watch Ultra 2 -- I like having it for emergencies trail running / backcountry skiing. Can confirm that it calls out when I have big falls. Good safety when in range (Garmin for when further away from connectivity).

Which Garmin watch? I'm looking closer at those for some of the cycling features.

I use their Mini 2 on expeditions for connectivity when I'm out of Apple/cell range -- https://shorturl.at/bEs81 -- not a watch but good for emergency extract. For watches, there are more choices then with Apple. Their one most relevant to me (for ultras / needing long battery life / maps) is their Enduro 2 https://shorturl.at/cAXcI. For you -- what specific kind of cycling? They have different optimal picks for road v mountain biking. Also, how many hours at a time?

i've been eying the Enduro 3. I'm looking for something that covers hiking/light trail running - 2-3 hours max, gravel and double track MTB 5-6 hours. I have been leaning towards the Enduro 3 but the price cut on the 2 is def a consideration.

3 for your purposes https://shorturl.at/oSYSE -- better battery life could be a life saver. Skin temp monitoring could help with hydration/layers and exposure reminder. Better navigation. Better solar. Lighter.
