Chris, you may want to consider a pre biotic as well. Usually a probiotic while better than nothing works even better when both are taken together. Also, if you can tolerate it, walnuts help heal the gut. The best nuts are Walnuts, Pistachios and Pecans are the best, stay away from the others. N-Acetyl Glucosamine is beneficial for gut healing. Lastly, it’s also possible that lectins could be harmful to the gut. See if you notice a difference if you eliminate those.

You may have noticed that I don’t write too well on an iPhone. No foods or supplements for that. 😉

I love walnuts and pecans (I toss a handful of one or the other into my protein shake).

You seem to be doing a lot more cardio than you did previously. Did you change your opinion on cardio?

I want to get better at “measuring “. Do you have any advice on what to measure and how to measure it?

Cardio

cardio is just for people who enjoy cardio. My friends are in many cases run. But my aspirations are towards strength. For example, I've been racing in 50ks and have no interest in the 200 and 250 mile races that many of my friends are participating in. But I've been doing weighted pull-ups (44 lbs. with good form and sloppily with 53 lbs.) while my coach knocks them out with 145 lbs. I very much want to be able to do that.

Measuring

Percent body fat, waist as a percentage of height, visceral fat, basal metabolic rate, and free testosterone. Waist with a tailor / soft tape and the rest with a smart scale. https://shorturl.at/atzZ8

Great job on the art, is that something new for you?

Paul Viscontini's story is inspiring thanks for sharing it.

Yep first (and possibly last) watercolor effort. My long-suffering wife paints a lot especially in watercolor. A virtue of the medium is that it is quite forgiving versus other paints -- you can just keep painting over it until you get it right. She takes classes and enjoys them. Other than sharing an activity with her, I prefer blacksmithing when it comes to artistic activities.

Hi Chris, if you don't mind me asking, What does your typical day look like? I would like to structure something rigid, but afraid of not being flexible enough as life comes at us fast at times.

Wake up at 3:30 AM. Check on markets/filings etc. 5 AM CrossFit class. 6:15 meet my trainer. Home by 7:30 AM to start my work day. Noon: meal. A few minutes outside in the sun. Work until 5 PM. Dinner. Done eating at 6. In bed at 6:30, reading etc. Asleep by 7:30 PM. Weekends different, include trail running and jiu jitsu. But the keys are 8 hours for sleeping. 6 hours window for eating. 4 hours of intense focused work and another 4 of more relaxed work-related reading. Mornings mostly inputs/reading afternoons mostly outputs/calls.
