Shilajit is used in Ayurvedic medicine...Shilajit is a natural mineral substance that exudes from the rocks in mountainous regions in the heat of summer. It is a powerful rejuvenative that cleanses the urinary tract and lungs, while bolstering strength and supporting the immune system. It purifies the blood and helps remove excess kapha and natural toxins from the tissues. As an aphrodisiac, it increases vitality and stamina while toning the reproductive organs and supporting their proper function.

Hello Chris,

Have you attempted to fuel with lean turkey, chicken and salmon as a protein base with in frequent use of red meat?

Agreed. I've been hitting more around 120-150 a day so worst case I'll sneak in a protein shake and an egg etc etc. I don't think it's a huge change but seeing the trend over the month and seeing the consistent protein miss I think it's enough data to act.

Hey Chris, thanks as always. Thought this was a good post to comment on one month into using the InBody scale and tracking my nutrition. I tried to do this without too much judgement and here's what I found. 1. The act of tracking really changed my decision making in terms of food, exercise, movement etc. 2. I lost about 6 pounds in a month (188 to 182) but saw skeletal muscle mass drop 2-3 pounds. Body fat percentage down about 1.5% 3. Protein intake was consistently not keeping up with my goal of around 200 grams a day. 4. Energy level, mood, performance all doing well. My next month is going to be trying to keep other elements consistent with a focus on increasing protein intake to stop the muscle loss trend. Also going to investigate testing options to level set on markers you mentioned in a recent post.

Great to have the #s. Maybe just nudge that protein intake up a bit. Maybe another egg in the morning or a glass of filtered milk?

Can't agree more on overcoming the social isolation. Coming out of the lockdowns was especially tough. Being part of a group and encouraging others to reach their goals while simultaneously hitting yours is one of the best feelings for me.

I absolutely rely on my various tribes. I wish I were a self starter but I am not. I am, at least, a self committer. I do what I say I'll do. So I show up. And I don't ever want to let my tribe down. So lifting/running/rolling is for the group as well as for myself. It is more fun that way and it keeps me going. Nothing binds people together like suffering together. It makes everything easier. I might be cold, but so are they. They're sore too. They have to tap. They miss lifts. We know each other's true selves stripped away of any hope of pretense. We're past that. And still find something to love.

This isn't about politics, but high agency / low agency divide is key to how people voted. Mistaking high agency people, especially those outside of traditional Republican groups, as low agency and treating them as such was one of the progressive blunders.

Love this post and the concept behind it. Personally, I love lifting weights but I find you can't beat the adrenaline rush from an intense run.
