Chris,

Do you have a weighted vest you'd recommend? I've been looking around but think I remember you mentioning them once but couldn't find it in past posts. Any tips are much appreciated!

I will work on being able to throw my 6’6 267 partner over my shoulder in a fire! That is a good goal! Happy 4th!

Ha! That would be rather awesome. Somehow between the 2 of you, I bet you'll both make it out alive. And -- dang big dude. 6'6" would be my optimal height if I could pick.

Much respect to Aaron Holleyman for his ultimate sacrifice, and to you for this remembrance of him. Especially on this 4th of July. Aaron, thank you for your ultimate sacrifice, and may you RIP. You are not forgotten.

Those are seriously expensive gels...Do you feel a big difference in performance/gut tolerance using them vs normal gels?

They are. Too expensive for me to want to use outside of competition. And even for races I use aid station snacks first then supplement with these. But they are better. Basically, they get the nutrients to your body without feeling anything at all in your stomach which is only worth it to me when I'm trying to fuel without any rest (so not needed for anything that is either under a few hours or super long where I rest anyway). But for a one day push where I don't rest then it helps. Also, if I'm flying abroad so pot committed to a big commitment, then I basically take an all of the above approach to what I do to improve my odds.

Makes a lot of sense, in a tough race scenario this could make the difference between finishing or not. Many DNFs are due to issues with nutrition

Bonus points also for avoiding a lot of the crap that is found in normal gels

Good luck for the race!

Triceps are 2/3rds of your arm mass - and they build out that 3D look.

Don't neglect traps and forearms as those really pop in t-shirt.

And real ones know, its not the guy with huge biceps to be worried about, its the guy with the big glutes who is going to be explosive.

100%. Working on striking in a 10-week boxing program and one of my goals is to do more with my hip rotation and off of my back foot instead of relying on my arms.

I really need to get into the bjj. Boxed for a few years and even though I was a terrible boxer (hate gut punches so kept my arms too low and could never get the timing of both moving my feet to the right spot after throwing any punches = constantly eating counter jabs), it is a great workout and fun af.
