Love the sauna! An online trainer I follow has a sauna in his yard and a cold plunge barrel and I’m so jealous. For now I just go to the one at my gym for 15 then cold shower then one more 15 minute session. I have gone to an infrared sauna place as well but I’m not convinced infrared is that much better and I actually like a hotter sauna better.

Same; I've tried infrared and traditional and far prefer traditional saunas. Maybe infrared works, but it doesn't feel as effective. But the cold water is what I most love; it is the surest dopamine hit and keeps me feeling good and energetic for hours afterwards.

Have you tried a steam room? FWIW I prefer them to saunas.

I have; there's one right next to the sauna at my gym. So far, not as big a fan. I just can't get as comfortable and feel bothered by the humid heat and not being able to see. Maybe just takes getting used to.

Maybe different strokes for different folks. Moist air is easier for me to breathe.

Oh BTW - I tried your Oikos but not a fan of stevia so not surprisingly not a fan. Been trying a variety of additions to Fage 0% plain yogurt (16g protein). 2 tbsp of peanut or almond butter gets you to 20g protein without the sweetener. Add a naturally sweetened jelly (which I’m not opposed to) makes for an interesting bread-free take on a PB&J

My question for your 1 year post would be current gear you're using and enjoying.

Hi Chris. In response to your question; I went through a change of life….I retired, sold my house, drove across the country and became a ‘pickelhead’, a rail trail biker, and a strength trainer. I travel for pleasure hitting diving spots for longer periods and hike amazing treks. Still enjoy a good physical challenge!

I try not to be overzealous with fitness trackers and all that but wore whoop for a few years while doing marathon stuff. 9 hours to sleep 8 is dead on- all the time awake etc was one of the first things I noticed with the whoop

So much noise and bullshit out there but at the end of the day - sleep/eat right and train consistently and most people will accomplish 90% of what they’re trying to do

Spot on!! Well done. When I stopped CrossFit at age 65 I definitely missed it. Challenging oneself physically is a gift to oneself, like a friend.
