Reflecting
Thanks to everyone who generously contributed to Sunday’s Push Against Cancer fundraiser. I hope that my team can crush our fundraising and push-up goals. If you’re local, you can join my team here. How it’s going: we’re half way there.
If we hit the goal, I will match it, so you get a lot of leverage on your gift.
Almost fifty friends have stepped up already and I’m hoping that their generosity can be matched by Sunday. Donations accepted here and if Facebook is more convenient, you can get details here.
As far as the push-up goal, the current record is 3,182, achieved earlier this year by Australian Daniel Scali, who is also the world record holder for plank at 9 hours, 30 minutes, and 1 second. Plank thought: unless you’re trying to break his record, if you can hold perfect form for over 5 minutes, then instead of doing it for hours, do it weighted. How many push-ups can I do? I’ll give it my all but no idea what number will result. Comment below with any guesses or challenges; we'll see who comes closest.

Training
This morning’s whiteboard:
As many rounds as possible for 25 minutes
Run 300 meters
6 DBall Over Shoulder 100 lbs.
6 DBall Squats 100 lbs.
30 double-unders
1:00 minute rest
Rx+ 150/100 lbs. and heavy double-unders
Then working out with my personal trainer after that.
Fueling
With the data I’m getting from my continuous glucose monitor, I’m recommitting to a protein-heavy diet which seems to work best for controlling my blood sugar. In short: steak and eggs (supplemented with some whey).
Supplementing
For Sunday’s push-up contest, I’m bringing Bucked Up and AmmoniaSport for a bit of an edge.
Recovering
Sunday will be a looooong day without a chance to shower between events, so I like these shower wipes to keep my skin clean(ish). They are also great for hunting and military deployments. They are the biggest and sturdiest ones I’ve found and can really scrub off a layer of grime. Not as good as a shower, but maybe half as good and much faster. Keep a pack in your car or truck.

We'll be 'that guy'....and we hate 'that guy', we are down bad this morning
Are you doing pushups or 'pushups'? Looked up a video since 3200 pushups in an hour is ~1 a second and doing a full pushup takes at least 1 second. (Doing 3000 anything in an hour is super impressive, and he followed the rules of the competition and guy is a beast. Also we just tried and hit 200 in a few mins but were gassed so very impressive record)...
But if we are making guesses on DeMuth's performance there is a big difference between:
1) Chest graze floor under control real pushup
2) Chest to fist crossfit style competition pushup
3) Chest to...some arbitrary level between plank and above 90 degrees
Our guesses would be:
1) 300
2) 500
3) 900
