Training
The best hour of the week is the first thing on my calendar – 5 AM at CrossFit Norwalk. I hate crowds. Times Square is my least favorite part of Manhattan. I couldn’t imagine wanting to go for New Year’s Eve. But I love it when my CrossFit class fills up. Along with the music and the sound of dropping weights, the numbers just create an amazing energy that makes it easier to go heavier. The first class of the week is the one that is not for time. It is usually squats but today:

I got in some pegboard practice then did strict pull-ups on rings. Next week we’ll be back to squats.
Squats make knees stronger. Squats make athletes better. Squats are good for kids, teenagers, adults, elderly people, and anybody else who can perform them correctly. Squats are a functional expression of human skeletal and muscular anatomy, and the human body is designed to do them. The squat is the way that tens of thousands of years of evolution has adapted the bipedal human body to lower itself to the ground. It is the position in which half the population of South Asia spends the afternoon. And when done weighted, it is the best exercise in existence for strength, power, coordination, joint integrity, bone density, confidence, discipline, intelligence, and charm.

Fueling
I need this

Recovering
I’ve added glycine to my bedtime supplements. I’m probably getting enough through bone broth but just taking a 500 mg capsule as insurance to help with sleep quality.
Optimizing
I just did my fourth Tasso monthly bloodwork to monitor my endocrine levels. They continue to substantially recover, with total testosterone up over 4.1x and free testosterone up over 4.7x since mid-summer.
Inspiring
This comes out tomorrow; can’t wait!
